Graphic Design Conference "POSITIONS"
The Graphic design conference "POSITIONS" during the Designers' Open is taking place for the third time. Philipp Neumann, self-employed graphic designer and owner of the book and magazine store MZIN will again present five positions.
Speakers: Mikuláš Macháček, Till Wiedeck, Sigrid Calon, Lars Harmsen und Anja Kaiser.

About the speakers:
Mikuláš Macháček (Studio ZZZ, Prag)
The czech graphic designer Mikuláš Macháček is also founder of ZZZ, a studio practice in prague specialized in corporate-, web-, produkt- und interior design. He co-designed the book „2x100 mil.m2“ (on czecheslovakian architecture) which was awarded this spring by Stiftung Buchkunst and he was in the 2014 in the jury of the brno graphic design biennale ... He will mainly speak about his work as professor at the faculty of fine arts brno.
Till Wiedeck (HelloMe, Berlin)
The berlin based studio HELLOME works in the field of arts and culture and for more commercial clients in fashion or music. The studio was founded by Till Wiedeck. In his presentation he will talk about working for the legendary music label warp records (rebranding, website, etc. ).
Sigrid Calon (Tilburg)
Dutch artist Sigrid Calon developed her own graphic style from simple geometric forms and patterns bringing it to print, textiles and others. Her current interest is on publishing books, especially the risography printing technique.
Lars Harmsen, Slanted (Karlsruhe)
Slanted is a blog and magazine for graphic design and typography which is operated by Julia Kahl and Lars Harmsen. Showing mostly students work in the first years the magazine now presents deeper looks into a city or country (Cuba, Switzerland, Paris, New York, Istanbul, Portugal ... current issue is on Marrakesh). Lars Harmsen, graphic designer and professor at FH Dortmund, will talk about the work of slanted, probably one of the most established adresses in graphic design.
Anja Kaiser (Leipzig)
After her studies at Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle and at Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam (Masters Gerrit Rietveld Academy) she works for cultural institutions in Leipzig (eg. Conne Island, UT Connewitz and Institut fuer Zukunft) creating posters etc. and teaches at Burg Halle. She will give a deeper insight on her finishing master work »Sexed Realities – To Whom Do I Owe My Body?« which was published in many magazines and was currently awarded and displayed in Brno at the graphic design biennale.
