CosmeticBusiness continues to grow, becomes more international and has new features
CosmeticBusiness continues its success story: five months before the start of the 15th international trade fair of the cosmetics supplying industry from 5 to 6 June 2019 at the MOC Munich, the exhibition space is already fully booked. In addition, the industry platform will be able to increase its internationality. New developments will also be introduced, including routes for sustainability and innovation.
With its diverse exhibition spectrum oriented towards the entire value chain, CosmeticBusiness covers the entire spectrum for the development and marketing of cosmetic products – from ingredients to production and packaging. At the trade fair in Munich, cosmetic manufacturers can find everything they might need for their future cosmetic products under one roof.
CosmeticBusiness is also a great platform for brands as well as private label brands with a more diverse product portfolio to exchange ideas with partners about implementing complete product concepts or expanding their cosmetic series. Every fifth exhibitor is a private label producer or contract manufacturer presenting its full-service capabilities. Their entire product range is on display – from skin care to colour cosmetics, personal care and perfume.
Positive development continues, exhibition space fully booked
CosmeticBusiness 2019 is already fully booked, five months before the trade fair opens – even with the expansion of the exhibition space. Across all four halls of the MOC in Munich, more than 400 exhibitors and represented companies will be present.
CosmeticBusiness is becoming more and more international. 42 per cent of exhibitors are coming from outside Germany, up from 38 per cent the year before. Companies from 23 countries are registered (compared to 19 companies last year). Japanese companies, for example, will be exhibiting for the first time in 2019. Most international exhibitors are from France, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
"The booked exhibition space again surpasses that of the last trade fair and the international presence continues to rise, which illustrates how positively CosmeticBusiness is perceived and valued in the industry," says Markus Geisenberger, Chief Executive Officer of Leipziger Messe, and adds: "Our trade fair is the most important source of inspiration for cosmetics companies and their suppliers in the German-speaking area again this year."
Transforming trends into successful products
As a driving force for the industry, the trade fair offers a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in the cosmetics supplying industry. "At CosmeticBusiness, visitors will find a wealth of information about ground-breaking industry trends and innovations – both at the exhibition and in the accompanying conference programme. A trade fair visit offers the unique opportunity to transform trends into concrete, successful products and thus launch ideas for the cosmetics market of the future," says Project Director Ivonne Simons.
More ingredients, manufacturing services and packaging exhibitors
Some 70 new exhibitors have registered for CosmeticBusiness. These include, for example, Chromos, Kutterer Mauer and Seidel in the packaging sector. New representatives in the private label and contract manufacturing sectors include Maxim Markenprodukte, the Straub Group and Tunap. Brenntag, Stockmeier and Siltech, to name just a few, are among the new exhibitors in the ingredients sector.
Exhibition section Colour Cosmetics grows
Decorative cosmetics are increasingly in demand at CosmeticBusiness: in 2018, one in five visitors said they were looking for decorative cosmetics solutions at the trade fair (2017: 13 per cent). The exhibition section Colour Cosmetics, which was created last year, proved very popular.
In 2019 there will be even more suppliers presenting their Colour Cosmetics range in Hall 1. Newcomers are, for example, the Italian private label specialist Gi Picco's and the packaging manufacturer MKTG Industry. The French brush and packaging supplier Cosmogen will be presenting their products for the first time too. Plus Toly from Malta returns to CosmeticBusiness.
The Distributors Lounge with matchmaking sessions continues
The Distributors Lounge, which will continue this year, had a successful première at the last trade show. Matchmaking sessions for cosmetic brands and distributors will be held on 6 June. These services make the trade fair even more valuable for cosmetic companies looking for sales partners in German-speaking countries. Interested brands and distributors can register for matchmaking sessions starting 5 February on the CosmeticBusiness website.
New: Sustainability and Innovation Routes
Innovations will once again be introduced at this year’s CosmeticBusiness and the trade fair itself will be developed further. In order to give sustainability and innovation more of a presence at the industry event, special routes will be set up that promise participating exhibitors a strong draw and make it easier for visitors to find their way around the halls.
Around 60 per cent of visitors to CosmeticBusiness are looking specifically for ecological and sustainable products and services. That is why the "Green Route" will be launched for the first time this year. It is open to exhibitors who offer products or services that help their customers make the market even more sustainable, resource-saving or environmentally friendly. This could involve, for example, the use of renewable raw materials, waste reduction or increased energy efficiency.
The "Innovation Route" is directed toward to exhibitors presenting new products in the special SPOTLIGHT show. The special show and the route will focus on innovative products that were launched no more than six months ago as of their CosmeticBusiness presentation date. Visitors can use the online exhibitor directory and the on-site trade fair guide to track the recommended topics.
In February: trade visitor registration possible, exhibitor directory online
Trade visitors can register online on the CosmeticBusiness website as of 5 February. Early birds can get their ticket free of charge until the end of March to visit the trade fair and request a complimentary ticket. The list of exhibitors will also be available on the event website starting in February.
In 2018, 419 exhibitors and represented companies from inside and outside Germany presented themselves, their products and services at CosmeticBusiness, the international trade fair of the cosmetics supplying industry. CosmeticBusiness is the only international trade fair in Europe, at which the cosmetics industry meets up exclusively with its suppliers and finds the wherewithal for the development of all kinds of cosmetic products, from the ingredients and manufacture to packaging. The only sector meeting place in Germany, Europe's largest cosmetics market, this B2B trade fair is indispensable as a trend barometer for decision makers in senior management positions, in product management and development, as well as those in marketing, purchasing and production. CosmeticBusiness 2019 will take place from 5 to 6 June in the MOC Munich.
